Solar tower

The main source of energy for the Doppelganger Dunes is their solar tower. It utilises mirrors to focus the sun’s power on a beam catcher perched on the tower. The structure charges up batteries which are transported to the other bases by the Skybound doppelgangers and their tamed Giant adult antlions.
The structures are made of a white and black concrete with honeycomb patterns in a post modern brutalism fashion. These were made my Pumice construction Ltd who also provided the wavebreakers. These wave breakers cause the surrounding sand to turn blue and “liquefy” protecting the area from the massive dunamis (dune tsuanmi). Additionally, the wave breakers causes the sand of the base to turn red and “solidfy” giving a strong foundation for the tower and mirror field.
Intel
Possible intel the team may gather about this location before the mission is below. Either give these out based on a D6 in or order from 1 to 6.
- Giant adult antlions are seen transporting large battery containers from and to the Solar tower to the other minor bases and the major base.
- Six Wave breaker stations lay at the perimeter of the base.
- The Wave breakers cause the sand within the perimeter to attract and solidify whilst causing sand outside the perimeter to liquefy.
- At the top of the Sun tower is an extremely efficient beam catcher that would be nigh impossible to replace.
- The tower itself is incredibly strong and highly defended, It would be be incredibly difficult to infiltrate.
- The wave breakers are set out in a hexagonal pattern. A wave breaker’s effects pointing towards the tower will be cancelled out by its neighbours if they are opposite.
